The Joint Tactical Radio Systems business unit is looking for a few good digital design engineers. The qualified candidate will be a senior level design engineer with 10+ yrs. of experience performing digital logic and circuit design of a embedded real-time control and data processing platforms. The job encompasses the entire design cycle of high speed embedded real-time digital communications processing platforms. Activities include: requirements gathering/analysis/documenting, architecture design, timing analysis, performance analysis, design/architecture trade studies, analog design (high efficiency low power, power supply design, audio circuitry), digital circuit and logic design, printed wiring board design: layer stackup, signal integrity analysis, layout/routing support, pwb procurement, assembly support, design package documentation generation, requirements and design verification, system integration, test support and transition to high volume manufacturing support.
Software defined radio experience desired and a strong plus. Lab experience a necessity, proficiency with high speed digital scopes and logic analyzers a plus. VHDL/FPGA/CPLD experience is a plus, but note: this is not the primary focus of the position. The successful candidate will possess good communications skills (verbal and written) and will interface with a variety of skill levels and disciplines (systems, softare, waveform, RF, digital, mechanical, manufacturing, engineering managment). Required technical tool set: Cadence: Concept / Allegro / SpectraQuest, Spice. Beneficial technical tool set: ModelSim, Altera FPGA design tool suite, Xilinx Design tool suite, Lattice Design tool suite, Required administration tool set: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Beneficial administration tools: Microsoft Project. Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Security Clearance.
