- Job Description/Job Requirements:
The System Engineer (SE) supports the resolution of engineering development problems by the application of (a) the physical and engineering sciences and mathematics, (b) system development and integration, and (c) the principal techniques and practices of engineering. Work pertains primarily to assessing and demonstrating the effectiveness of new concepts and ideas for equipment in achieving particular mission goals; formulating overall design concepts and criteria, which establish the baseline for advancement of state-of-the-art engineering developments; and, review, monitor, implement, deploy and assess overall progress in the development effort.
•Knowledge of Web service (WS) and other information standards and technologies including WS-Risk Management (RM), WS-Security, WS-Addressing, and WS-Notification.
•Working knowledge of the enterprise management and core services development such as Interface Management, Messaging, Security, and Enterprise Service Management.
•Working knowledge of SOA products [i.e., IBM Websphere, Oracle Application Server, Weblogic and Fusion Middleware and Fuse (Enterprise Service Bus, Services Framework, Message Broker and Mediation Router), Registry/Repository, ESM, Policy Server].
•Knowledge of National Airspace System (NAS) automation architecture and systems integration.
•Knowledge and experience with prototyping and the prototyping process.
•Knowledge of information standards and technologies.
•Knowledge of OMB-required architecture views.
•DoDAF and Unified Modeling Language (UML) experience.
•Experience with Rational Unified Process System Engineering (RUP SE) with the DoDAF Modeling Framework.
•Experience conducting trade studies and knowledge of the FAA System Engineering Manual (SEM) processes to conduct a trade study.
•Shall be capable of supporting the development and management of trade studies, and supporting prototype development plans and procedures for associated products.
•Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents.
•Hands-on experience in project management with distributed development team.
•Hands-on experience in Agile Programming, scrum, and CMMI.

•Candidate must be able to work independently, with minimal daily supervision
•Candidate will work as member of a team.
•Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
