Full Description:
A Communication Networks Division contract seeks experienced FPGA/Digital Designers for implementation of advanced programmable communications waveform technology into FPGA designs. The candidate for this position will lead one or more of the designs. The candidate will design and implement complex digital communications and signal processing functions. The candidate will work with system designers to understand and implement MATLAB models defining the signal processing function. The candidate would support the following activities: - Develop of system-level fixed point MATLAB/SIMULINK models of required signal processing functions - Develop FPGA VHDL design architectures for assigned units of signal processing functionality - Support development of an FPGA test plan for the unit - Generate designs of unit signal processing functionality down to the RTL level - Generate FPGA specification documents to specify the FPGA units - Code VHDL implementations of assigned signal processing units in RTL-level synthesizable VHDL - Code VHDL in accordance with project VHDL Code guidelines/requirements - Incorporate third party IP Cores into unit designs for designated functions - Generate Test Bench Code to implement unit test functions - Simulate VHDL implemented units using Xilinx design tools - Generate FPGA Test Images for execution on target hardware - Manage and build FPGA Images in the project Clearcase environment - Test FPGA Test Images on target hardware to verify the design meets requirements - Generate information for a FPGA Test Report document on the assigned unit The candidate for this position will lead one of the designs. The candidate will need to work with other FPGA and System engineers in performing these activities.
