Required Skills:
BS Degree in software engineering +9 years of demonstrated results, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree recommended. Employee should possess the following: Experience with RTOS (Green Hills Integrity), - Experience with the Visual C++ environment, - Proficient programming experience in C language and have experience in OO design (UML and CORBA experience a plus), - Ability to use lab equipment (emulators, O-scopes, logic analyzers, comm analyzers), - RF/Communications domain experience a plus, - Knowledge of software process and SEI/CMMI levels. Must communicate well and work with several different engineering functional areas. Knowledge of crypto equipment internals is a plus,

Experience with the Rational suite of software tools a plus. - Experience with military waveforms a plus.
Full Description:
Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) User Entry Segment (UES): Wireless Communications System Engineer for a UMTS/WCDMA – based software defined radio application designed to execute within a satellite environment on a compliant software-defined radio. Candidate will participate in system definition of requirements and design related to the producing a JTRS-compliant waveform development environment and porting of the MUOS waveform to that environment. Will be responsible for meeting systems overarching design considerations including system capacity, latency and real-time performance of the embedded WCDMA application hosted in FPGAs, microprocessors and custom hardware (e.g., RF). Tasks include: • Derivation of requirements and UML design from 3GPP specifications, WCDMA vendor documentation and project-specific documentation • Participation in Technical Interchange Meetings and major design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.) • Software design, code and test including participation in peer reviews and integration • Collaboration with other MUOS segments in establishing viable design solutions.
